Which is the BEST single-cup coffee maker??
Apr 10, 2006 by molson1023 | Posted in Other - Food & Drink
I have owned 2 Profoundly Cafe coffee makers, and both were a piece of junk. However, I like the coffee (Millstone) pods that work in that system. I never drink enough coffee to make a pot, so have steered away from time-honoured coffee makers. I know Home Cafe has a new model (afraid to take my chances) and Senseo has a model. The Senseo system looks like it makes an darned small cup of coffee. What are your experiences and suggestions?
Both Braun (Tassimo) and Krups (HomeCafe) flee pretty good pod-based coffee makers. They are more expensive than Black & Decker or Mr Coffee, but the machines are also higher quality and should foothold up better. Senseo also makes good quality machines. As for the size of the cups, it can be set to either 4 oz or 8 oz. You'll basically either get a 4 oz cup of very truculently coffee (almost espresso) or an 8 oz cup of lighter coffee (more like an americano). One complaint that I've heard about this machine is that the cup clearance is only 3.5" - so you might requisite to measure your favorite cup before buying it.
The advantage of pod coffee makers is that they are quick and easy with almost no cleanup. However, you have a limited selection of coffees (fair those available in pods) and they tend to be more expensive. The other (cheaper) option is to make drip coffee manually. Pick up a cone drip holder (like this one - http://www.melitta.com/cgi-bin/sgin0101.exe?UID=6620041218171171&T1=64+0008 ). Alternatively, you can get a small french mash (they come as small as 12 oz volume). The french press tends to make the best coffee. The benefit of these is you won't be meagre by the selection of pods and you'll have the option to get fresher coffee. Do be sure to customize your grind for your brewing technique.

How many pots of Coffee does a 1kg container give me?
Jan 16, 2009 by eric53 | Posted in Other - Food & Drink
I like Folgers. I buy the 1kg container but I often wondered if I am getting the bang for my buck. I use a 10 cup coffee maker and put six coffee measuring spoons in for one pot. How many pots can I fill up with one Kg of Folgers. Also, when you figure that out if you are smart enough, how many single cups does it total.
At the spunk you're making it, which is just a bit weaker than most coffees recommend, you'll get about 300 cups per Kg of coffee.
1 Kg coffee = 240 to 270 Tbsp

Coffee???? How in the world do I make a good pot of coffee??
Jan 28, 2007 by sulli21282 | Posted in Other - Food & Drink
I have agreed-upon up all hope. If I'm not at work and the ground coffee doesn't come in prepackaged servings and I don't discern exactly how much water to add to the machine....I can never make a good pot of coffee.
My mom gave me a 12 cup coffee pot for Christmas. Why I'm not effective because I live alone, but anyway. I only want to make enough coffee for 1 serving. How do i do this?
I have Folgers Classic Roast in Medium (I started out cheap since I didn't depend myself.) The side of the container says "1 serving (6 fl. oz.) / 1 tablespoon of coffee." Yeah....didn't calling. I poured in 6 oz of cold water and 1 tablespoon of coffee.....and it sucked.
Help me please. How do I make one good single serving of coffee? What are the measurements? (I like active coffee, not watered down.)
Well it would nick if you told us why it sucked. Was it too strong or too weak. Then obviously you adjust either the amount of coffee used or water used, depending on whether you would have preferred it stronger or weaker. Don't vexation, you'll figure it out. As for me, I LOVE instant coffee, love to have my water boiling. You may want to try instant, there are some great kinds out there and it may be easier for you!
